The ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary may not be rejoicing, but we certainly are because their prison sentence has just been extended THREE more years.

And not only will we be able to kick back and enjoy all the drams for more years to come, BUT Season 4’s release date is just right around the corner, so let’s celebrate with some #BODYROLLZ.
The popular Netflix comedy/drama/dance party/whatever you want to call it is officially renewed for three more seasons, and in the words of Netflix’s Twitter account perfectly summed up, “Our sentence has been extended. 3 more seasons, bitches.”
The news of the show’s renewal up to Season 7 was announced just this morning, including word that the series’ showrunner and exec producer Jenji Kohan will reclaim her title for the remainder of the show, along with the entire original cast, including Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, Uzo Aduba, Laverne Cox, Taryn Manning and of course many more.
Jenji released a statement, ecstatically writing QUOTE, “Three more years! Not quite a political term, but still plenty of time to do some interesting things. In some cultures, 'May you lead an interesting life,' is a curse, but I don't live in those cultures. Here's to keeping it interesting.”
She continued, giving thanks to everyone involved in the creation of the show, saying, “Thanks Netflix! Both thanks and you're welcome Lionsgate! And kudos and gratitude to the stellar cast and crew and writers and producers and editors and musicians and mixers and shleppers...with whom I have the pride and honor of crafting this show.”
But before you start freaking out about the amount of binge-time you’re going to have to set aside, Netflix has also confirmed that the new seasons will not be released all at once, rather in future years to come. And speaking of all new seasons, Netflix released a season 4 teaser causing our anticipation for this summer to reach an all-time high:
I think we can all agree that Season 4 will most definitely NOT disappoint, but we’re just gonna have to wait the next visiting hours come June 17 to find out.
