PETRONAS | Corporate Social Responsibility - Ngiling Bidai Begulai Enggau 2018

PETRONAS Operating Units (OPU) in Bintulu and Miri namely PETRONAS Carigali Sarawak Gas, Malaysia LNG Sdn Bhd, Asean Bintulu Fertiliser and PETRONAS Floating LNG Satu joint hands to co-organise Ngiling Bidai 2018 with the Iban community in Suai, Niah.
Ngiling Bidai literally means “rolling up the mat” symbolises the end of Gawai festival which is observed by the Iban community after a month long of celebration beginning of 1st of June.
This year, we made it different by adding the element of environment friendly to our activities. About 40 trees were planted at the front area of the longhouse to promote green environment. Apart from tree planting, PETRONAS in wherever it operates has never left safety behind. Our dedicated PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad team came to give safety awareness talk on handling LPG tank used in household safely. In addition to that, PETRONAS also supports the power of education in life. Encik Bansa Manja, Head of Production from PETRONAS Carigali Sarawak Gas shared his journey with PETRONAS to the youths of Rumah Sabang. Many were inspired by his journey with PETRONAS and aspired to be like him too.
Every year, all operating units of PETRONAS in Bintulu will join hands to organise this festive ceremony with the local community in the area of our operations. Volunteers from various OPU came together to volunteer for this noble cause, in line with PETRONAS’ commitment for Corporate Social Responsibility.
