Remy Ma reignites her feud with Nicki Minaj at the VMAs--check out how the rapper called out her hip hop nemesis THIS time.
Remy just COULDN’T RESIST the chance to shade Nicki at the VMAs with a not-so-subtle callback dig.
This is officially the hip hop feud that refuses to die, thanks to Remy Ma’s latest shot at Nicki that seemingly came completely out of nowhere. It all went down during tonight's VMAs, when Remy Ma appeared with backstage co-host Terrence J to tease viewers about the show’s upcoming performances after a commercial break. Right as the show was cutting to commercial, Remy took the opportunity to call out Nicki in true Petty AF form...
Umm, did you hear that at the end? Yup, that was Remy signing off before the commercial break by saying “Nicki, what’s good?” And thus, a ten-year hip hop rivalry was reignited with three little words.
Remy was of course alluding to the moment during the 2015 VMAs, when Nicki called out Miley Cyrus for criticizing her in a New York Times article by saying “Miley, what’s good?” during the live show. The shocking and meme-worthy moment went viral instantly, and it was very clear that Remy was taunting Nicki with the call-back diss during this year’s show.
Fans took to Twitter to comment on Remy’s “Nicki, what’s good?” comment, and the greater consensus was that this beef is not something anyone is interested in being interested in again. One user commented QUOTE, “like im not even a nicki minaj fan, but remy ma needs to stop, its old and tired”, while another wrote QUOTE, “Did Remy Ma really just say "Nicki what's good"? she gotta keep bringing Nicki up to stay relevant I swear”. Ouch. Of course, there were a few fans that were entertained by the moment and took Remy’s side, with one tweeting QUOTE, “yall can drag remy ma to hell and back all u want but it will never change the fact that she destroyed Nicki & won the beef”.
And just when we’d hoped this would be the show where Katy and Taylor would end their feud, instead one of the oldest in the industry started up all over again.
