If there’s one thing we know about Riverdale fans it’s that they’re the most passionate fans out there.
Last week we saw the Riverdale High School students take on Carrie: The Musical and show off their singing abilities and we have to admit that we were super impressed with the cast. We knew that KJ Apa was musically-inclined and that Casey Cott would be super talented due to his Broadway history but we had no clue that the other actors were such triple threats.
On the episode we got a ton of music-filled scenes as well as moments that furthered along the plot that we have learning about all season long. Although the episode was more of a distraction to what was actually going on in the town of Riverdale, it did have some seriously intense moments like when spoiler alert, the Black Hood returned and completely ruined the musical in the most gruesome way.
We have to admit that we were way more entertained by this episode than we thought we would be, and other fans agreed until they realized that a crucial scene was left on the cutting block. When the soundtrack to the episode released, people were quick to realize there was a duet by Madelaine Petsch and Vanessa Morgan AKA Cheryl Blossom and Toni Topaz AKA our new fave OTP called Choni.
The song in question was You Shine from Carrie: The Musical, but the problem was that it wasn’t actually on the episode at all! It didn’t take long for fans to realize that a scene between the new couple was left out and they promptly demanded for its release by bullying the showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa on social media.
The showrunner received tons of Tweets and messages pleading for the Choni scene, and we have to admit that it’s pretty funny.

And fans even went as far as to create a petition in order to see the song on TV and eventually Roberto caved and posted the scene and it’s nothing short of incredible.
This moment is so sweet and is pretty significant to Cheryl and Toni’s relationship and although we’re sad it didn’t make the final cut we’re glad that we have it now!
