Riverdale is OFFICIALLY doing a musical episode.
And we got all the details.
So apparently, in the upcoming musical episode, the Riverdale drama department is going to put on a production of Carrie: The Musical, which, surprise, surprise, will include some musical performances from our favorite characters. The episode is set to feature 11 different songs and we couldn’t be more excited to see all our Riverdale favs show off their vocal skills.
As for what the Musical will be about, it’s said to be “a dark-yet-catchy cautionary tale exploring the gritty realities of small-town high school life.” The production will be directed by “future tony winner” Kevin Keller and as for who will be playing the lead, Carrie? None other than our fav red head, Cheryl Blossom.
On top of that, we got a sneak peak of the cast list for the episode, which included characters such as Betty, Archie, Veronica, Josie, Reggie, Toni, and even Alice Cooper. But one name that was noticeably missing from the list was Cole Sprouse’s character, Jughead. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, as Cole has stated in the past that he has no interest in singing and will avoid it as long as possible.
Instead, during the episode, his character Jughead will actually be documenting the making of the production and then later, that documentary will be aired as another episode, called “A Night To Remember.”
Wow there is so much happening and I am so ready for it. The episode is set to air on April 18th at 8pm so get your DVRs ready. In the meantime, let me know in the comments below if you’re excited to hear your favorite castmembers from Riverdale sing on the show! When you’re done with that, click right over here for the little bit of hope we have left for Bughead. As always, I’m your host Renee Ariel and I’ll see you guys next time.
