Love can be a lot of things, but one thing Sam Hunt made sure of last night was showering his fiancée with pure unadulterated embarrassment in the best way possible.
When Sam Hunt hits the stage you know it’s about to be a full-blown house party, but after last night’s ACM performance of his newest single “Body Like a Back Road”, it’s shaping up to be a house party for only two.
Halfway through his performance of the sultry new track, Sam made his way down to the audience to where his fiancée Hannah Lee Fowler was sitting, where he then put his arm around her and serenaded her to the point of pure red-faced embarrassment in the most adorable way possible.
Ahhh yes, the look of true love! Sam gushed to People on the red carpet yesterday about the inspiration behind the song, revealing that Hannah inspired more than anything the lighthearted spirit behind the track. Prior to the two announcing their engagement earlier this year, the two went through a breakup, as revealed in his track, “Drinkin’ too much” where he apologizes for their lack of privacy and for naming his 2014 album, Montevallo, after her hometown in Alabama.
Sam revealed that QUOTE, “I wasn’t in an optimistic place before we got back together. After we got back together, I took a step back and didn’t take everything quite as seriously — in a good way — and put this song out.”
He also gave a few details about their upcoming nuptials in a few weeks, saying QUOTE, “The wedding will be low-key, low maintenance. We are both kind of introverted people for the most part, so we don't like celebrating ourselves too much. If there ever is a time to do it, it is now, and it is more to celebrate the union of marriage than it is each other. I am excited about doing that.”
So major congrats are in order for the happy couple, but I also gotta hear what you have to say about Sam’s serenading performance, so hit us up right down here in the comments, and as always, be sure to hit that subscribe button for all the latest award show coverage.
