The 2017 AMAs might have been filled with a bevy of incredible performers, but let’s not get it twisted. It was the Queen of Soul that made all our baby hairs stand during HER epic medley of hits. Before taking the stage, her handsome son Evan Ross -husband to Ashley Simpson- introduced her and praised his momma’s illustrious career. What followed was a video montage of her career highlights- her concerts under the rain, in a helicopter at the Super Bowl, and My favorite…
When the video ended Ms. Ross appeared on stage in a beautiful princess gown and her classic enormous hair as she sashed her way all over the stage treating all her fans to her biggest hits. From “I’m coming out” to “Take me higher”
And then she sang my favorite song from the Wiz “ease on down the road.” She nailed all her hits! In the end her family joined her onstage- her kids, her grandkids, everybody- as she tearfully accepted her Lifetime Achievement award, and that’s when we got this gem of a moment. (10:49-10:51) A family member straight up digging for some buggies on live tv. Epic. All of it. Thank you Ms. Ross for your legacy! What did you think of her performance and that montage?
