Selena Gomez REFUSES to talk about her relationship with The Weeknd, but she has no problem opening up about rehab and how Instagram took over her life.
There are a lot of things Selena is willing to talk about, but The Weeknd isn’t one of them.
Not much is known about Selena’s ever so secret relationship with The Weekend and well, the singer is planning on keeping it that way. In her riveting spread with Vogue, Sel opened up about her rough 90 day journey in rehab, how Instagram made her feel like shit, but when she was asked about her budding new romance with Abel, she kept quiet on the matter.
The Vogue writer revealed that when asked about The Weeknd, Selena basically said that she’s learned her lesson about talking so openly about her love life that she’s never going to do it again. Never again? I just have one thing to say about that.
Even though the singer kept quiet about her romance, she opened up about her love-hate relationship with social media – especially with Instagram. Although Selena still has an Instagram account (that’s controlled by her assistant), the ‘It Ain’t Me’ singer revealed that sometimes she fantasizes about disappearing from social media forever.
Selena admitted QUOTE, “As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram, I sort of freaked out. It had become so consuming to me. It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to. I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see, like it was putting things in my head that I didn’t want to care about. I always end up feeling like shit when I look at Instagram. Which is why I’m kind of under the radar, ghosting it a bit.”
But before Sel made the decision to live her life under the radar when it comes to social media, the singer did just that in real life when she decided to check herself into rehab August 2016. Selena admitted that being in rehab was one of the hardest things she’s ever done in her life, but she wouldn’t trade her experiences for the world.
She told Vogue QUOTE, “You have no idea how incredible it felt to just be with six girls, real people who couldn’t give two sh-ts about who I was, who were fighting for their lives. It was one of the hardest things I’ve done, but it was the best thing I’ve done.”
Aside from opening up about her struggles and some pretty deep stuff, Selena also talked about a couple of things she’s working on in her spare time like her Netflix series, being an advocate of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and taking Spanish classes in hopes of recording Spanish music in the future.
Were you surprised that Selena was so candid and open about her own struggles? Let me know in the comment section below!
