Selena Gomez has been taking a break from the public eye for the last few months to focus on herself and rehabilitating some personal issues but tonight she returned with triumph winning favorite female pop/rock artist at the AMAs along with delivering a beautiful speech. Take a look:
She opened the acceptance speech saying that the last time she was on that stage in 2014 was the first time she felt she was honest with the public performing “The Heart Wants What it Wants.” She went on to say QUOTE - “I think it’s safe to say that most of you know a lot of my life whether I liked it or not.” Additionally, Selena addressed the importance of being honest and staying true to yourself.
She closed saying QUOTE - “I have to say thank you so much to my fans because you guys are so damn loyal and I don’t know what I did to deserve you. If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken and if that’s anything, whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me is I care about people and thank you so much for this.” How amazing is that? So honest and genuine. What Selena did on that stage was so powerful and it’s beautiful to see her doing well. And you could tell the happiness for her was spread throughout the room. The camera cut to Lady Gaga once Selena wrapped and she couldn’t have been happier or more proud.
