Selena Gomez may be returning from rehab sooner than we think… and what better place to make a comeback than the star-studded AMAs?
She crushed her AMA performances the last two years, so really, what’s an American Music Award show without SelGo?!
The rumor mill is spinning with excitement as it’s just been reported that Selena Gomez might possibly make an appearance on the 2016 AMA stage after all. Since Selena stepped out of the spotlight in late August, due to health issues relating to her diagnosed Lupus disease, AMA producer Larry Klein has revealed to E! News today that the popstar MIGHT make an appearance at the award show come Sunday night.
Selena’s last sighting was this past October when she and her family appeared at a Texas Roadhouse in Tennessee, when it was reported that she was attending rehab in the state as well. A source revealed that QUOTE, “She enjoyed herself and was there for a late lunch. She couldn't have been more gracious to everyone and to the fans and was more than happy to take pictures with whoever.”
Sel is nominated for an AMA for the first time in TWO categories, including Artist of the Year and Favorite Pop/Rock Female Artist, however, she is no stranger to the AMAs. Last year, she performed a sultry rendition of her hit “Same Old Love,” and the following year, she stunned the audience with an emotional performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants.” So although an ‘appearance’ could mean anything ranging from presenting an award, performing or just gracing the show with her presence, it’s safe to say we’ll ALL be very impatiently awaiting her epic return this Sunday at 8 pm, so don’t forget to set those DVRs asap!
