Selena Gomez Spills What "Bad Liar" Is About & Whether The Weeknd Collab Rumors Are True

Selena Gomez finally spills the beans on what exactly her song “Bad Liar” is about.
Many have speculated that it’s about The Weeknd, and the answer is..maybe?
When “Bad Liar” was released Selena’s songwriting collaborator, Justin Tranter explained that the lyrics are about QUOTE - "when you first start having feelings for someone, but don't want to admit it, which turns you into a 'Bad Liar.'" So naturally everyone pointed fingers at The Weeknd. But now Selenators don’t know what to think because in an interview with Miami’s Power 96 radio station Selena said that she’s had the song for a year, but as far as we know, she’s only been dating The Weeknd for a few months. But then again they did meet at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show a couple years ago so there’s a definite possibility that it could be about him. Selena explained the song’s meaning in more detail saying – “It kind of tells a story. It's that feeling when you're obsessed with someone, when you first initially, I always say the 'honeymoon stage,' and I'm a sucker for that feeling. It's the best feeling in the whole world. I think that feeling, you can't get them out of your head, you're willing to want to dress differently, you want to be differently. It's not what I'm encouraging, it's more about that feeling that you can't keep it cool. It's just what I'm feeling at this exact moment, and I don't know how to play it cool. I'm not that girl. I'm very much, 'This is who I am, this is kind of what you get.' And it's worked out for me so far! I definitely think other girls can relate to that."
Another Selena / The Weeknd rumor that has been making it’s rounds is that they are collaborating on a song, but when asked about it on The TJ Show, Selena let out a good chuckle and said – “No. No we’re not.”
So as of right now, it looks like we won’t be getting a Selena featuring the The Weeknd song anytime soon but there’s definitely a chance that “Bad Liar” and future songs to will be about him.
