Shawn Mendes Announces NEW Album Info & MSG Show

OMG, so much is happening. Shawn Mendes has a new album coming out, we can go see him perform it live, AND Ansel Elgort just covered one of his songs. Ah, it’s like things are finally right in the world.
Shawn is definitely taking his career to the next level and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for the future.
Just last night the 17-year old shared some pretty big news on Instagram letting fans know he’s releasing his second studio album and it’s going to be called “Illuminate.”
He even revealed what the cover will look like and that it will be released in stores on September 23rd. But if you can’t wait that long, don’t worry. Shawn captioned the photo saying fans can pre-order the album on iTunes starting this Friday, July 8th. When you do, you’ll instantly get a new song called “Ruin” as a freebie. And if that’s not enough to make you want to pre-order, fans will also get THREE MORE SONGS sometime before the full album is released. Woow.
Shawn also teased some video footage where we see him getting emotional while sitting in an empty room, however there is NO SOUND on the clips! Ahhh, does this mean there is a music video in the works?
But it doesn’t end there. Shawn also posted a video on YouTube revealing that he will perform the new album at Madison Square Garden on September 10th. Sheesh, this kid has a lot going on.
And speaking of Shawn Mendes, one of his famous friends posted an “emotional piano version” of his song, “Treat You Better” on Instagram yesterday with a musical announcement of his own.
Ansel Elgort told fans that he will debut his vocal single, “Home Alone” on SoundCloud next week. Performing it at Ultra Korea last month, I think we can all agree that there is nothing that he can’t do.
Taking to social media, Ansel said he’s written and produced a ton of new tracks transforming them from piano ballads into dance records and the new music will be under his own name, separate from his EDM alter ego, Ansolo.
