Shawn Mendes released his new song “Ruin” and performed it on the Today Show!
10,000 people showed up to Rockefeller Plaza this morning to see Shawn perform and he did not disappoint.
Shawn took the Today show stage as part of the show’s Citi Concert Series and drew in quite the crowd. 10,000 fans showed up to see Shawn perform and not only did he treat fans to a live performance of “Stitches” and “Treat You Better,” he also belted out his new single, “Ruin.” Check it out:
Shawn just dropped “Ruin” last night and totally killed his performance this morning. The first 1,000 fans who checked in for the show got a pre-sale code for first access to tickets to his Madison Square Garden concert in September so you know there were some happy campers. He expressed his excitement about his latest single on Twitter saying QUOTE – “I can’t believe Ruin is out. Worked on that song for SO long. I love it so much, I hope you guys dig!" The song is definitely catchy, but does it give anyone else get Déjà vu to John Mayer’s song “Gravity?”
They sound pretty darn similar to me, but both of them are great artists so in this case the more the merrier. “Treat Yourself” and “Ruin” will be featured on Shawn’s upcoming album, Illuminate which is scheduled to drop September 23rd.
