Shawn Mendes Performs On SNL For First Time & Gets EMOTIONAL With "Mercy" & "Treat You Better"

Shawn was the musical guest on SNL over the weekend, and he showed us a side of him we’ve never seen before…
Emma Stone hosted the episode while Shawn made his SNL debut as the sketch show’s musical guest, and he completely slayed the in-studio audience as well as fans at home with his performances of “Treat You Better” and “Mercy”. Shawn kicked things off with “Mercy”, and though we’ve heard and seen him sing the song dozens--okay hundreds--of times before, this time he got more raw and real than ever before…
Yup--it’s official. Shawn has grown from a young Vine star with major potential to a complete and total rock star. And speaking of his journey to stardom, Shawn told Rolling Stone back in April QUOTE, “Even to this point, I don't feel like I'm caught up talent-wise to my career. I never felt like I was good enough and, only nowadays, am I starting to feel like I deserve all this. I felt like there were so many talented people who should be getting what I have."
It’s amazing how humble Shawn continues to be despite all of his successes, but if you need any more proof that he’s worthy of all of it, go ahead and take a look at his impassioned performance of “Treat You Better” on the SNL stage...

I don’t know about you guys, but after THOSE performances, I feel like it’s Shawn who needs to have mercy on us, because if he gets any more talented or attractive I just don’t think we’re going to be able to handle it. But it looks like we’re going to have to, because Shawn’s Illuminated tour kicks off in March of next year and tickets are on sale now. Soooo I’m guessing I’ll see you guys there?
