To say that Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin have had a confusing relationship would be a huge understatement. The two have been possibly on-again off-again for months now but the “In My Blood” singer just denied that they’re dating.
Shawn and Hailey were first spotted holding hands at a Halloween party last year and getting cozy over the holidays but at the 2017 American Music Awards Shawn said that he was single during an interview.
We thought that would be the end of Shailey but apparently that was not the case because last week Shawn posted a photo of him and the 21-year-old model to Instagram with no explanation.
Obviously this fueled tons of romance rumors because let’s be real, they DO look like a couple.
While some people may be annoyed that a picture causes so much speculation, but apparently Shawn knew what he was getting himself into. During an interview with NRJ Radio in Norway, Shawn said QUOTE “We’re really good friends. Hailey said she wished she could post the photo without the Internet exploding. Then I said, ‘You know what, I’m just gonna do it!”
So there you go, Shawn and Hailey are not dating and are just the best of friends.
We have to give Shawn serious props for posting a pic that he knew would make the internet explode just to prove a point.
