Taylor Swift Drops New Song "Gorgeous" - Claims To Be About Joe Alwyn?

Taylor Swift just dropped the third song from her upcoming album, Reputation, and we have lost all chill.
It’s been over a month since Taylor Swift released her second song, “Ready for It”, out into the world. As much as we love listening to it and “Look What You Made Me Do”, we’ve been begging for new music. Taylor finally gave in and announced yesterday morning that she would be releasing a song called “Gorgeous” at midnight.
Although this drastically messed with our usual bedtime routine, it was totally worth it.
In the song, Taylor tells the story of how she started falling for a gorgeous new guy while she still had a boyfriend. Obviously, everyone has been going into detective mode trying to figure out who exactly this song is about.
In typical Taylor fashion, she uses pretty direct lyrics to assist listeners in figuring out the moment that inspired the song.
Fans first thought that this song was about Taylor’s past with Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston and how she was accused of cheating on her long-time boyfriend with the Avenger’s actor. This theory makes total sense at first.
There’s a lyric that says QUOTE “He’s in the club doing, I don’t know what”, which feels like a hint to Calvin, who is a DJ and often performs at clubs. Another lyric states QUOTE “You should take it as a compliment/That I got drunk and made fun of the way you talk.”, which could obviously be referring to Tom’s British accent.
But if you take a second look, you’ll see that all signs are pointing towards the song actually being about her boyfriend of over a year actor Joe Alwyn.
One of the first lyrics in the song is QUOTE “And I got a boyfriend, he’s older than us”, which is all about how she probably met Joe when she was still with Tom. Joe is 26 and Taylor is 27, and both Tom and Calvin are in their 30s, so whoever she was with at the time would definitely be older than them.
Another clue that makes us think that this is all about Joe is that like Tom, Joe is British and has an accent that Taylor probably made of fun like the lyrics suggest.
There’s also a lyric that talks about Sunset and Vine, one of the most popular intersections in Hollywood. Joe’s an actor so this could be another sneaky subtle hint.
The most convincing point to be made is actually coming straight from fans who attended one of Taylor’s listening sessions.
Fans who actually talked to Taylor and her side of the story are coming out and saying that the song is QUOTE 100 percent about Joe.
No matter who the song is about, the song is a total bop and we’ll be listening to us all day.
