Taylor Swift is gifting us with another new song off her Reputation album called “Call It What You Want” come midnight tonight, bringing us one step closer to the finished product.
So call it what you want, but we’ll just go ahead and call this one another certified T-Swift HIT.
To ease the anticipation of Taylor Swift’s Reputation album release being so close, yet so SO far, she’s gifted us with yet another song called “Call It What You Want” set to drop at midnight tonight. Taylor made the announcement early this morning on social media, but instead of her usual teaser of the actual song, she went full 1989-mode and posted a few of the song’s lyrics, and FYI, we’re totally sensing some “Love Story” circa 2008 vibes here.
In three different posts, the lyrics read, “Holding my breath, slowly I said / you don’t need to save me / Call it what you want / but would you run away with me? …yes.” The song is clearly yet another love song, so I can only imagine the crazy theories and romantic music video that will come out of this one.
The countdown continues until the release of Reputation, but if you can’t wait, and I mean REALLY can’t wait, Taylor will be performing ANOTHER new song next week on the eve of Reputation’s release date during ABC’s TGIT lineup. According to the release, Taylor will give a three-minute performance of a song not yet named during an episode of Scandal.
She really is the gift that keeps on giving. So mark your calendars and set your DVRs for November 9th at 9 p.m. when the show airs, but if you can’t make it because, DUH, you’re eagerly waiting to hit ‘purchase’ on Tay’s album, we totally get it – thankfully an extended version of the performance will air on Freeform on Nov. 10.
We’ve only got a few short days left until Reputation breaks the internet, and a few short hours until “Call It What You Want”, so right now, start forming those thoughts and theories for Taylor’s newest song and share them down here in the comments. After that, click right over here to see Taylor’s song writing process and some original lyrics to “Gorgeous”.
