Taylor Swift surprises Arizona foster kids with a first look at her Reputation tour AND a pizza party. Nope, it doesn’t really get better than that.
On Saturday Taylor invited foster and adoptive children and parents in Phoenix, Arizona to her final dress rehearsal for her upcoming Reputation Stadium tour. More than 2000 attendees watched Taylor tweak her show for the final time before the tour kicks off May 8th in Glendale, Arizona.
We hear from PEOPLE that Taylor chatted with the crowd before the concert at the University of Phoenix, asking if it was their first time attending a concert. Of course, for many of the kids it was. E! News reports that after the final rehearsal ended Taylor brought everyone onstage to take photos and treated everyone to a pizza party with cookies, brownies, and candy. In addition, Taylor stayed for nearly four hours after the show snapping pics and meeting all the inspiring families.
One concertgoer named Kellie Dillon told E! how the private show came about saying QUOTE, “We received an email a few days ago through an organization called Arizona Association of Foster and Adoptive Parents. They help organize events and extra-curricular things for foster kids and foster families. They release 2,000 tickets and everyone thought it was a scam at first.” Well, we probably would too. But obviously it was the real deal and Taylor treated these kids to a night they’ll never forget.
Kellie also revealed that they were under strict orders to keep the viewing a secret. And everything went according to plan. Kellie added QUOTE, “Some of these children have been through terrible journeys in their lifetime, so to me able to escape for an incredible evening like this was out of this world!”
Other parents took to social media to thank Taylor for her kindness. Abbi Williams shared a photo of signed autographs from Taylor and one of Taylor smiling with her kids backstage, “A night my girls and I will always remember - meeting Taylor Swift! Thank you for such a generous evening with your littlest fans. Your show is amazing - you and your team did an incredible job!!”
But that’s not all. While in Phoenix, Taylor also paid a visit to one special fan in the hospital at the Arizona Burn Center. Isabella McCune isn’t able to go to Taylor’s concert after getting burned in a neighborhood party on St. Patrick’s Day. The 8-year-old recorded a video for Taylor, telling her that she could no longer go to her concert in Glendale due to her injuries. Isabella also revealed that Taylor’s music helped her through the trauma, and then asked Taylor to stop by the hospital. And she did. Taylor even surprised Isabella with a bag of Reputation swag and autographs.
