The Food Bike: A Rare Welcome At Construction Sites!

Have you seen this before? It's a mobile food seller on motorcycle! During the early days of the construction boom this was the common mobile service for most Chinese construction workers. Now , with mostly foreign workers in the construction sector, the Chinese food bike has literally disappeared . This one spotted at Damansara Utama's major construction site is a rare sighting indeed! He is Sokri from Sungai Buloh, possibly an Indon migrant . Always smiling and definitely a hard working fellow. And he is always a welcomed sight especially at tea-break times in the morning at ten and after lunch around three to four, and he brings lots of goodies . In this video we trail his stop at the site and captured his awaited arrival instantly. As he approaches you will hear his loud handheld horn. The construction workers emerge like ants from all over! What does he offer? Behind his bike is a home-made cooler box that contains pre-packed drinks and fruits. On the outside of this box are hung a wide and colourful selection of fruits, tidbits, snacks and drinks. All ready to be taken away with a snip of his scissors!
