The Internet BASHES Snapchat's Redesign

Snapchat rolled out its redesign to 40 million users as of last week, and has plans for all of its users to have it by the end of this quarter. The redesign is shocking, to say the least, and fans of the app are NOT happy with many of the changes.
Before the redesign, Snapchat was split into Chat, Stories, and Discover. The new update completely removed the Stories feed, which featured content from friends, celebs, and publishers. It also looks completely different, and now has “Friends” feature, which combines Chat and Stories from friends, and a Discover feature, which shares stories from publishers and community.
In short, Snapchat is thirsty to please advertisers and does not give a f*ck what you want.
But perhaps Snapchat WILL listen to the backlash from fans, because there is a lot of it. One user said QUOTE, “I might start using Instagram Stories now,” while another commented QUOTE, “This is worse than the f**king Black Plague we need snap back.”
Okay guys but now tell ‘em how you really feel.
In case complaining to the ethers of social media isn’t enough, a Change.org PETITION has been going around, urging Snap Inc. to reverse the redesign. The petition reads in part QUOTE, “"With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more difficult” adding that the update QUOTE, “defeats the original purposes Snapchat has had for the past years”, and calling the new features QUOTE, “useless”.
Well, useless for us. But not useless for those Snap execs looking to make that ad money.
The petition has over 800,000 signatures and counting, so users will just have to wait and see if their complaints are heard.
One Snap spokesperson has already said QUOTE, “Updates as big as this one can take a little getting used to, but we hope the community will enjoy it once they settle in.”
Translation: Get used to it because this update is gonna make us a sh*t ton of money.
