From silly pet videos to potatoes flying around the room, these are just a few of the things we’re all gonna miss once Vine finally goes bye-bye.
After three long and incredible years, Vine is coming to an end. The app’s parent company, Twitter, announced that Vine will be shut down in the next few months. But before you go and freak out and save everything you can before it goes away, Twitter shared in a post on Medium that as of now, the content on Vine is safe.
They wrote QUOTE, “Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today. We value you, your Vines, and are going to do this the right way. You’ll be able to access and download your Vines. We’ll be keeping the website online because we think it’s important to still be able to watch all of the incredible Vines that have been made. You will be notified before we make any changes to the app or website.”
While that is a sigh of relief for all the content creators on Vine, the app is still eventually going to go away. So to celebrate everything that Vine has done for us these past few years, let’s take a look back at five of the greatest Vines EVER.
First on our list is the video that perfectly captured the misheard lyrics from Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinking About You’ song.
Whoever took the time out of their day to tie a potato to a ceiling fan is definitely the winner here. And then there’s the Eh Bee family with a daughter that got WAYY too into New Years. Charlie Murphy, who basically started this duck trend after uploading this six-second video of his duck army. Brittany Furlan, who probably had to wash her mouth out a couple of times to get the taste of dog out of her mouth. And last but not least, shout out to all of those musicians like Kenzie Nimmo who manage to keep all of us looping because their voices and edits were so damn good.
Well Vine, thanks for all the entertainment in the last three years. You gave us Shawn Mendes, Nash Grier, King Bach, Brittany Furlan, and who could forget this little gem?Are you guys sad that Vine is going away?
