Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) needs to comply with its own party constitution if it wishes to avoid deregistration, said Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In a statement on Friday, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) said it had on Feb 28 sent a notice to Bersatu secretary-general Shahruddin Md Salleh.
ROS directory-general Surayati Ibrahim said the notice was issued following complaints by Bersatu members and therefore data is required to complete investigations.
Bersatu has been requested to present the meeting minutes and financial documents of party, including for the branch and division levels.
Last month, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin explained that Bersatu's constitution had stipulated that branches only need to hold AGMs a year after they were formed.
