Zayn Gets Candid About Eating Disorder, Anxiety & TEASES New Music On Instagram

In a candid interview with The Sunday Times Style, former One Direction member Zayn Malik explained the anxiety and eating disorder he developed from his time in the group. Zayn said QUOTE, “It wasn’t specifically an eating disorder. It was a control thing. Every area of my life was so regimented and controlled, it was the one area where I could say, ‘No, I’m not eating that.’ Once I got over the control, the eating just came back into place.” Zayn revealed it was spending time at home with his Mom in the UK that helped him recover. The “Pillowtalk” singer also gave the magazine an update on his anxiety issues that had emerged saying, “I now have no problem with anxiety. It was something I was dealing with in the band.”
But these days Zayn is spending time at home with his girlfriend Gigi Hadid, whom he admitted he lives with in Bel Air (!). Not only did Zayn reveal that he actually lives with his model girlfriend but unveiled what his nickname for her is. “I call her Gee, she calls me Zee. There’s some other nicknames too, but I’ll keep those private.”
For now his second album is also staying private but Zayn did mention that he’s happy with it so far and proudly disclosed, “There are real signs of growth and development. Hopefully, as a human being, I’m growing too in my knowledge and perception.” While we don’t know exactly what this growth will sound like, over the weekend Zayn shared a clip on Instagram working on a new song.
