From pop stars flubbing through their songs to sexy boy bands in towels, there’s a LOT that happened at the Teen choice awards besides, well awards! And to help catch you up on all the night’s juiciest highlights, you’ve come to the right place- Clevver’s Trophy Life. Now let’s get on with the show. Demi Lovato opened the show with a powerful performance of her newest single, Really Don’t Care. But if you know how the song goes, you’ll know she actually completely flubbed the beginning. Twice! She opened her mouth to start singing well before she was supposed to, tried to dance off the fake start, and then started singing the song at the wrong time! She thought she was late but she was actually early. And she skipped her first line.

And NOW’s when she was supposed to start. Good recovery though. And at least we all know that home girl is not lip syncing. Now speaking of lips, Ian Hardin’s lips got a major shout out by his costar Lucy Hale when she won the category for best actress in a TV drama.

Yeah, not a bad gig at all. But while Lucy was getting flirty onstage with Ian, Nina Dobrev used HER stage time to dismiss all the romance rumors between her and Hottie McHottie Kellan Lutz. And yes, he was in on the joke.

I love it when you can make fun of yourself. And Taylor Swift did just that at the TCAs. The beautiful starlet had the honor of presenting the award for Best actor in a Drama, which ended up going to the talented Ansel Elgort, but not before this sarcastic jab at her own scandalous love life…

Thank God Harry was NOT in the audience during that one. 1D couldn’t make it to the awards show and neither could another boy band, 5 Seconds of Summer, though their pre-taped speech nearly gave us all cardiac arrest because their clothing was… not clothing.

Did you see that? Look at the one to the right.

Yup. I saw that too. Moving on!... 5Sos weren’t the only boys charming up the ladies in the audience. Tyler Posey who co hosted the show did as well, albeit using very untraditional methods. I think he thought he was in a musical.

I say- let the boy dance! Clearly he needed to get some twerking out of his system. Tyler even got to reunite with the queen of twerk herself, JLO, whom he worked with in Maid in Manhattan, and he asked her if he could be her back up dancer. This is what happened.

Aww… JLo let him live his dreams. He’s not that bad. And last of the highlights but certainly not least we’ve got Donald Sutherland who upon winning Choice Movie Villain he went onstage and told the audience that he quite disagreed with their decision. That he was sweet, even tempered, and generous. And to show his generosity he did this…
Then he chucked the bright red berries into the audience which was a cute reference to the film Hunger Games except that this is not a movie set. Those were real berries and THOSE are real people in real… and LOANED designer dresses. At least yell duck next time, or something. Anyway- hope you enjoyed these highlights. Which was your favorite?
