Alessia Cara strips down for her 2017 MTV’s Video Music Awards Performance.
We can always count on Alessia to remind us all that we’re beautiful just the way we are.
Alessia’s incredible VMAs performance of her hit single ‘Scars to Your Beautiful’ captured our hearts for a number of reasons. As always, the 21-year-old singer killed it in the vocal department, but on top of that, she also managed to spread a very important message.
When Alessia first stepped onto the stage in a red dress, face full of makeup, and short black wig, we were all a little thrown off, knowing this isn’t her typical look. But right before we all started to panic, something amazing happened.
Her backup singers took off the wig and helped Alessia out of the dress, revealing her classic all black casual look underneath, and handed her a simple wipe to remove that makeup.
Just showing us once again, you don’t need a fancy outfit or a ton of glam to look beautiful. We are all beautiful just the way we are and I’m so happy Alessia continues to spread that message to her fans. Not to mention, the rest of the performance was nothing short of perfection.
