Ariana Grande’s got a new album coming, a new boyfriend swooning over her, AND now, she can add a whole new look to her list of “new” things, thanks to her July 2018 British Vogue cover. The “No Tears Left to Cry” crooner looks stunning on the magazine, but without her signature ponytail or usual cat eye eyeliner, Ari is looking COMPLETELY different. Like, we-have-to-keep-doing-double-takes-different.
But side note -- how cute are those freckles??!!
The Vogue cover look may be a dramatic change for Ari, but the big change is also a perfect reflection for where she’s at in life right now. Ever since she took a hiatus following the end of her Dangerous Woman tour, we’ve been anticipating a whole new Ari--and clearly, we’ve got her. Recently it was revealed that Ari broke up with boyfriend of 2 years Mac Miller, and she’s now dating SNL star Pete Davidson. She’s also gearing up to release her 4th album, ‘Sweetener’ -- and if “No Tears Left to Cry” is any indication, it’s gonna be a banger.
While Ari is probably very excited about her future right now, she took the time to open up about her past and present with British Vogue. When asked about coping with post-traumatic stress disorder after the Manchester Arena bombing, she said QUOTE, “It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But yeah, it’s a real thing. I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn't even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn't even say anything. I don't think I'll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”
Ari also revealed that she struggled with severe bouts of anxiety after her tour ended. Explaining QUOTE, “My anxiety has anxiety. I’ve always had anxiety. I’ve never really spoken about it because I thought everyone had it, but when I got home from tour it was the most severe I think it’s ever been.”
We’re so glad to see Ari doing much better these days, but we’re also grateful that she’s talking about her struggles, because it’s what makes her one of the best role models and most relatable celebs in the game.
If you wanna get the whole interview, you can grab a copy of Ari’s issue of Vogue on newsstands this Friday, June 8th.
