Ariana Grande teases her Nicki Minaj collab “The Light is Coming” with a NSFW video and finally reveals the light has a release date.
There’s more collab news where that came from. Ariana is also teaming up with Troye Sivan.
As you probably know by now, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are collaborating for the THIRD time on a new track called “The Light is Coming”. Ari previously teased the song on Twitter and gave fans at Wango Tango a sneak peek.
We know that Ariana is treating the internet to “something special” on the 20th of each month leading up to the release date of her new album “Sweetener”. And June 20th can’t come soon enough. Yesterday Ariana revealed that in just 10 days we’ll finally get “The Light is Coming” and her album pre-order. The news included a filtered lip sync video of the track.

But something tells us we’re getting more than just the track on June 20th. Fingers crossed we’ll also get the music video!! We know Ari and Nicki filmed SOMETHING this weekend, thanks to Twitter. Nicki first called out Ariana tweeting, “I’m on set! WHATS GOOD?!?!?” Ariana responded writing, “on da way sis my call time was 2 next time i’ll get there yesterday”. Then Nicki threatened to go live as soon as Ari did show up, then cue Ariana’s anxiety. What we actually got was this not-safe-for-work video of the two.

Ariana has also been posting some moody pics featuring balls of light. And she responded to a fan asking about the music video on Instagram and said she had “already shot dat one”. The fan asked if there was MORE than a video and Nicki responded with a tongue wagging emoji and a smirking face emoji. So get ready for something in addition to your typical music video.
There’s more where that collab news came from! Yesterday Troye Sivan announced a brand-new single on Twitter with this simple message, “DANCE TO THIS FT @ARIANAGRANDE JUNE 13”. The image attached to the announcement sees Troye and Ariana arm in arm while glancing at the camera. So now we know what we’re doing on Wednesday- dancing around our room to this new collab. Ariana retweeted Troye’s message with a declaration writing, “i love u forever”.
