Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s food scene is diverse and multi-cultural. Over the next few weeks we’ll be exploring Auckland’s food culture showcasing the range in cuisine that can be experienced in Aotearoa New Zealand’s biggest city. In this video we’re hunting down some of the best spots for Filipino food- a cuisine that draws from over 100 tribal and ethnic communities and contains Chinese, Spanish and American influences.

In Auckland Filipino food ranges from the traditional to dishes with a contemporary bent. In this video we take you into the kitchen of Boracay Garden a beloved local restaurant for some classic breakfast dishes, feast on Filipino street food from Hapunan a food truck with a cult following and share where to go if you’re craving Filipino desserts. We’re hunting down Auckland’s tastiest Filipino eats, hit subscribe and get ready for some mouthwatering food.

1. Adobo del diablo, beef kare kare, pata tim and taho from Hapunan Food Truck. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook @hapunan to find out where they are parked up each day.

2. Tosilog and Bangsilog at Boracay Garden, 124 Customs Street West, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010. Open Tuesday to Sunday 11:00am to 2:30pm and 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

3. Halo halo and ube cake at Gold Ribbon, w 0602, 1 West Coast Road, Glen Eden, Auckland 0602. Open Wednesday to Monday 11:30am to 8:30pm.
