Model Bella Hadid covers the new “love issue” of Teen Vogue and got surprisingly candid about her own love life with the magazine. The 20-year-old spoke out about her very public split from singer The Weeknd, and didn’t hold any emotion back. Bella revealed that it wasn’t as easy as it seemed, “When I love somebody, I love them with my whole heart. It was my first breakup- or second, next to the horse-and so public. As an outsider, you might think I handled it so well, but it’s always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily. It’ll be hard for a while. Love hurts, but you have to pull through.” The horse Bella was referring to was Lego, her favorite competition horse that she was forced to sell when diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Bella’s struggle was seemingly amplified by the fact that The Weeknd moved on from their year and a half relationship very quickly with Selena Gomez. Despite the drama, Bella took the high road tell the magazine, “I’ll always respect him, and I’ll always love him. Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you’ve fought so hard to build.”
