In case you want to see what a living legend is, look no further than Bon Jovi’s iHeart performance...
You’d think after four decades of doing rock shows, Bon Jovi would have slowed down or lowered the energy a bit, but that was definitely not the case tonight. Olympic gold medalist Shaun White introduced Bon Jovi, who kicked things off with their hit, “Now or Never”. The classic tune immediately had everyone in the audience on their feet rocking out and singing along.
That song came out in 2000 and it still holds up. The band then went into another one of their mega hits - “You Give Love a Bad Name”. And of course, the audience knew all the words to that one, too, because let’s face it -- everyone has somebody to dedicate those lyrics to.
Considering genres like pop, rap and R&B have been dominating the charts these days, it was super refreshing to see a classic rock set for a change. That being said, Bon Jovi is an iconic band who would fit into any award show set list because they’re that good. And speaking of the band’s icon status, after their performance they were awarded with the iHeart Radio Icon Award. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi had some thoughtful words for the rising talent of the music industry with his acceptance speech…
Bon Jovi is going to be inducted into the Rock n Roll hall of fame next month, and deservedly so.
