Taylor Swift Debuts 'Delicate' Video at 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Taylor just dropped her brand new music video for Delicate at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, and I think that we speak for everyone when we say it was not at all what we expected!
The anticipation for this music video was so high, but did it meet your expectations.
Taylor’s new single, Delicate, is a love story about how she falls for someone and their relationship is a bit complicated due to the level of fame that she has and when she teased on Instagram that she would be debuting this video during iHeart Radio Music Awards we totally thought based on this premise that it was going to have maybe a Style or Wildest Dreams vibe starring a love interest. However, that was not the case at all and Taylor decided to take a slightly different approach for Delicate.
In a very Shake it Off meets Sia vibe, Taylor shows us what it’s like to be famous. Having people grabbing for her attention with every step she makes, even her security guards are like human walls around her. But during the video she discretely gets handed a note by a gentleman and suddenly feels regret because it’s impossible for her to have any sort of authentic moment in public. This is all somewhat on par with what we expected, but then the video takes a turn when Taylor realizes magically that she’s invisible and precedes to literally dance up a storm, Maddie Ziggler style, as if no one is watching!
She dances amongst conversations without people even noticing, and she takes a beat to shake it off in the rain. It’s as if she’s living out exactly what she would do if she was free from her celebrity prison.
Finally at the end of the video Taylor decides to meet this mystery man at the address he gave her, and while we don’t see his face, we do see her reaction and our hearts can help but wonder if Taylor didn’t show us the mystery man because she knows we all know it’s her current beau Joe Alwyn.
I know a lot of Swifties out there have a lot of mixed feelings about this video, but I think it’s the first sign that the old Taylor is in fact NOT dead. I loved the video, and I loved that she didn’t take herself too seriously in it, but what about you? Did you love it or hate it?
