We promise you’re gonna think twice about Taylor Swift’s “Delicate” music video after seeing this Kenzo ad that looks WAY TOO similar.
Did Taylor really rip off her “Delicate” video from a perfume ad?
Taylor Swift’s “Delicate” music video debuted at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday as she accepted the award for Female Artist of the Year. The video sees Taylor dance like no one is watching, which leads her back to the real world and to inner happiness. But the Internet wasn’t as happy about it. Twitter was quick to point out that the Delicate video looks SUPER similar to Kenzo’s 2016 Kenzo World fragrance ad starring actress Margaret Qualley. The 3 minute short film was directed by Spike Jonze and sees a discontent young star break away from a fancy event, make funny faces, and then frantically dance around a gorgeous lobby. So did Taylor copy the ad? We’ll let you guys decide...
What’s more- both videos feature supernatural elements. In “Delicate” Taylor becomes mysteriously invisible to the public and eventually ends at a “dive bar on the East side”. The perfume ad sees the starlet shoot lasers out of her fingers and do stunts, and ending when she jumps through a floral eyeball.
What doesn’t help Taylor’s case is the fact that her video director Joseph Kahn has been accused of borrowing concepts from Spike Jonze in the past. Multiple times. And Joseph, who is generally outspoken on social media, hasn’t addressed the controversy so far. Do you guys think these two videos are ODDLY similar or are these similar concepts just a crazy coincidence? Head down to the comment box to help us decide!
