January is turning out to be an excellent month for former 5th Harmony member Camila Cabello. Her first solo album, Camila, debuted at Number 1 and is currently on top of the Billboard 200 albums chart along with her hit-single “Havana” becoming her first ever Billboard Hot 100 Number 1.
In honor of this major milestone, Camila joined Billboard’s Hot 100 Top 10 Countdown on Facebook Live to chat with fans and reveal some behind-the-scenes secrets on making her album. During the livestream, Camila sang the pre-chorus of her unreleased collaboration with Ed Sheeran and although it’s only 12 seconds we can’t get it out of our heads!
The song is called “The Boy” and we first found out about its existence back in May of last year when Ed did an interview with Brazilian personality Hugo Gloss. Ed said that he wrote the song based on Camila’s vocal and she re-worked the lyrics. Apparently the tune was supposed to be the QUOTE “stand-out track on the album”, but unfortunately it didn’t make it to the final cut.
Fans have been begging for its release and now that we have a teaser, it makes us want the full song even more. We do have point out how the melody sounds extremely similar to Wings by Little Mix, but that’s doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear it!
We’re guessing Camila didn’t think that releasing a new song was enough to do in one week because she also revealed that she bought a house in Miami for her and her family. Instead of reveling in the fact that she can afford a house and support her family in such an incredible way, Camila is most excited about having her own pool to swim in. Just when we think we can’t love her any more than we already do she does something sweet like this!
