Cardi B DELETES Instagram After Feuding with Azealia Banks

Cardi B is the most recent celeb to quit social media, but she’s not doing it to promote an upcoming project. Instead, it’s in response to Azealia Banks seriously dissing her in a recent interview.
The two women have never really gotten along, and it all started when Azealia called the Bodak Yellow singer a QUOTE “poor man’s Nicki Minaj” in September 2017. Cardi responded to that diss by simply posting a video of Azealia dancing and singing along to her songs at the club.
This time, though, things aren’t going to be solved as easily. While appearing on The Breakfast Club radio show, the always-outspoken Azealia called the mom-to-be a QUOTE “illiterate, untalented rat” and that she is a QUOTE “caricature of a black woman.” Yikes, these are seriously charged words and it was all because Azealia was talking about how the conversation surrounding black woman changed when Beyoncé released Lemonade.
Obviously, no one would like to be called these things, especially in such a public way.
Cardi responded to the hateful words by posting a note on Instagram saying QUOTE “I'm from the hood. I speak how I speak I am how I am. I did not choose to be famous people choose me!” The note mentions how Azealia has had feuds with multiple black women in entertainment and that she thinks she’s QUOTE “advocating for women but doing the opposite.”
Cardi also commented on a post including the video of Azealia saying QUOTE “I’m not apologizing or killing myself because of who I am.”
Almost immediately after, Cardi deleted her Instagram completely. Wow, that’s a lot to take in and we’ll be the first to say that we love that Cardi is unapologetically herself and that she has been the source of inspiration for so many people since her quick rise to fame. We hope she comes back to Instagram soon, but we totally understand her need for some time away.
