We’ve seen some pretty weird sponsored content in our time monitoring celebrities Instagram accounts: Snoop Dogg posting about Hot Pockets, Kim Kardashian’s toilet paper ads, Bella Hadid photoshopping herself with deviled eggs. We thought we’ve seen it all. Until Demi Lovato’s sponsored posts turned dangerously political.
What’s up guys it’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and Demi Lovato wants people to know that when she accepted a free trip to Israel in exchange for a few posts, she wasn’t trying to mix church and state.
In fact, I don’t even think Demi thought about the possibility of backlash when she posted her trip to Israel on Instagram.
And in case you missed what I am referring to, allow me to catch you up.
Demi posted three different times from her sponsored trip to Israel. She didn’t specifically say who sponsored the trip, but if I had to guess it seems like it was from a tourism board or something like that.
Let’s go through her posts.
First she posted this series of photos and captioned it quote, “I am an American singer. I was raised Christian and have Jewish ancestors. When I was offered an amazing opportunity to visit the places I’d read about in the Bible growing up, I said yes. There is something absolutely magical about Israel … Thank you for having me, Israel
