Donald Glover Cast as Lando Calrissian in Han Solo Movie

Starwars.com made the official announcement yesterday that Donald Glover will be playing a young Lando Calrissian for the untitled upcoming Star Wars spinoff, Han Solo. The role was originally played by Billy Dee Williams and the directors, Phil Lord and Chris Miller could not be happier to have Donald on borard. They released a joint statement saying QUOTE - “We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us. These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
According to Lucasfilm, fans will get to see a different side to Lando saying QUOTE – “[it will show] his formative years as a scoundrel on the rise in the galaxy’s underworld.” Sources are also saying that the film will show how Lando lost the Millennium Falcon to Hans Solo who will be played by Alden Erin-rike previously made iconic by Harrison Ford. The film is slated for 2018 so you can sit tight for a while but I want to hear what you guys think about Donald Glover playing Lando. Love him in Atlanta!
