Dove Cameron Hints At Riverdale Season 2 Role With THIS Pic

If Jason Blossom’s murder left you stumped all the way up until Riverdale’s season one finale, you’re in for an even bigger mystery this time around. The show has been a massive success, so we can’t help but wonder if another iconic Archie Comics character will be joining the cast.
Rumors have been flying lately, especially since Dove Cameron more than hinted that she’d be down playing Sabrina the Teenage Witch in an interview with Shine on Media. Sabrina the Teenage Witch comics is also published by Archie Comics, allowing for the perfect crossover. Dove said, “If they wanted me, I’d go.” And why wouldn’t they want her? The Descendants 2 star has been killing it lately, and there’s no doubt in our minds that she could step right into Melissa Joan Hart’s shoes if they gave her a chance. She’s even been a fan of the comics since she was a kid - just listen to how passionate the former Disney star sounds.
We all knew it was a long shot for our dreams to become reality, until a certain Instagram post, that is. Just two days ago, Dove posted a pic of a Sabrina comic. While the cartoon witch had a lot to say - “No… we modern witches believe life should be a ball.” - Dove’s simple phone-emoji caption wasn’t quite as clear. Does this mean she got a call from the casting directors of a certain TV show to play the role of a certain teenage witch? Her three latest Insta posts haven’t cleared up whether or not this is the real deal.
But we’re so hoping it is! Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa already revealed to ComicBook.com that they gave some serious thought to featuring Sabrina in season one, but introducing a supernatural character like her into a natural world was a little more than the already action-packed show could handle. He said, “If we introduced Sabrina, it would kind of overshadow everything we had planned.”
Makes sense, but season two is a brand new season. So maybe now’s the time? We’ll be on the edge of our seat until anything else is revealed - and keeping a close eye on Dove’s Insta feed.
