so it turns out that ed sheeran isn’t going to quit from social media entirely.. For now.
In a classic case of a clickbait conundrum, ed finds himself in some accidental drama.
After his interview with The Sun, Ed revealed that he can’t be on twitter anymore due to the negativity. This obviously sent all his 19.2 MILION adoring followers into red alert. But it turns out that mayyyybe these rumors are the product of sensationalist journalism. The reason I say that is because in a recent interview with the Today Show, it appears we had it all wrong. Ed says “They made so much of a big deal out of this[...] I got asked in an interview if i read negative things and i was like, ‘Oh, I don’t even go on Twitter anymore. It’s not like I quit it. I still post on instagram and post on Twitter”
He went on to say “I’m just not going to wake up and read something and be like, ‘well, that’s rude.’ I don’t want to choose to do that anymore, and everyone's made a huge deal out of it.”
Matt Lauer went on to tell Ed that there are plenty of nice tweets about him too. But our boy Ed went on to say how we are all human, and we have a tendency to ignore all the positive things and focus on the negative. And I couldn’t agree more. Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss. Oh and then ed went on stage a crushed it, check it out:
Sheeran didn’t just perform “Castle on the hill” and call it a day. No he performed Shape of you, supermarket flowers, and Galway Girl in front of 12,000 fans after the today show (which was an audience record by the way). What a stand up guy.
