Fifth Harmony Talks Camila's Exit & Highs & "Very, Very Sad Lows" In Seventeen Mag

Ever since Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony, the road to a third album with one less member has been understandably rough. But, that’s not to say Lauren, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, and Normani couldn’t get on the same page to build a beautiful third album, because they did – they just had to go through some ups and downs for it.
Ally told Seventeen magazine about the group’s dynamics, saying QUOTE, “We’re focusing on this new era. We’ve had some highs and some very, very sad lows, but together we’re writing our new narrative.” Normani chimed in after Ally’s comment and added QUOTE, “It’s so beautiful having four women on the same page. There’s nothing we can’t get through together.”
Aside from talking about their journey from a five-person girl group to a quartet, both Normani and Lauren opened up about their struggles with self-confidence in the same interview. Normani got insanely personal about her struggles, saying QUOTE, “I’ve struggled with self-confidence in a different way than the other girls, in the sense that I’m the only black girl in the group. It’s a problem that so many little girls – whether they’re African-American, Latin, whatever – can’t identify with what they see. Hopefully I can be a source of light. I feel like I have the power to influence a whole generation, which is overwhelming at times but also such a beautiful thing.”
Meanwhile, Lauren got candid about her bisexuality. She told Seventeen magazine, “You can’t use the fact that I’m bisexual against me if that’s something I’m proud of. I feel motivated more than scared to share who I am because it makes me feel awesome when someone comes up to me and says that because of me, she was able to find the strength to accept herself.” It’s safe to say these ladies are the best role models for young girls to look up to.
