Supermodel Gigi Hadid has managed to take the fashion industry by storm in just 3 years. She made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2014 and since then has walked to runway for the biggest names in fashion, graced numerous covers of Vogue, Co-designed a successful capsule collection with Tommy Hilfiger and JUST recently released a make-up line with Maybelline. At just 22 years old, Glamour magazine named her Woman of The Year and we can’t help but think Gigi truly does have it all.
Last night Glamour held a ceremony at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn and Serena Williams presented Gigi with her award with a heartfelt speech. Serena said QUOTE” "Gigi you are one of the few people on this planet I would leave my baby for — for one night — but for you it shows how much you mean to me. And I want you to imagine the affect you have on the world."
Gigi then accepted the award and spent the first half of her speech thanking the numerous people who have helped her get to where she is today as well as including a very sweet message to both of her parents. The supermodel then shared a special message for all the young women watching:
Gigi goes on to prove she doesn’t have it all figured out by saying this:
G followed that thought up by saying “And if you don’t feel strong every day, that’s ok.” And last, Gigi ended her speech by reminding everyone – especially young women - to prioritize what makes you happy in life:
Gigi ended her speech by telling women we’re stronger by celebrating each other.
AND as if that speech didn’t make us to relate to Gigi SO MUCH, Gigi almost tripped on the way to the awards earlier in the when she got her foot caught in her long gown but thankfully she had has sister Bella Hadid by her side to hold her up.
