On many ballots, there was a write-in section where voters could write in a name if they were not in favor of any the candidates on the ballet. And because we know the country is filled with geniuses people wrote in Selena Gomez, Harry Styles and Harambe. Need I remind you Harambe is a gorilla that was shot at the Cincinnati Zoo last year. And we’re not talking a couple hundred votes. 11,000 people consciously and deliberately wrote in the name of an animal. One twitter user reacted saying QUOTE - “these people are to blame for me hating the human race, fuck y'all #Election2016.” Of course, many of the write ins were not counted as Buzzfeed pointed out due to the fact that for write in votes to count the candidates would have had to file paperwork in advance for their name to count.
But thinking that a celebrity could be president isn’t too far fetched because well, it’s the reality we live in now.
