Kanye is still standing by his.. Stance on Donald trump. During a phone interview with Hot 97 DJ Ebro Darden, Kanye mentioned that he “loves” trump, and the DJ’s didn’t really know what to say.
Let me get you up to speed:
Remember when Kanye first met with trump in December of 2016 after he won the presidency? Remember when they met at trump tower for the meeting, and after when trump was interviewed about it. All he had to say after was “we’ve been friends for a long time,” and “ life, we discussed life. “
Similar to Donald Trump, Kanye is known for speaking what is on his mind, and that’s arguably why half the internet just loves the guy.. And the other half.. Not as much. Kanye sparked controversy a few days ago when he tweeted his support for anti-black lives matter conservative commentator Candace Owens on Saturday April 21st. He said “I love the way Candace Owens thinks” Which sent him and his opinions back into the social-political spotlight
Then just a couple of days later, Hot 97 DJ Darden spoke to Kanye on the phone off-air to get some answers and clarity regarding these tweets. Then DJ Ebro wanted to talk about their phone conversation during his radio show yesterday and offered some explanation. He said Kanye praised Candace Owens because “she is challenging conventional black thought.” Kanye continued to speak his mind, and said “I love Donald Trump” then, when Darden asked Kanye WHY he loves trump, he said it was because trump reached out and gave him a meeting, Obama never did that.
So it sounds like Kanye has kind of a legitimate reason to feel how he feels. I mean everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so I’m certainly not going to join the witch hunt. But what about YOU!
