Hey Hey Hey! Katy Perry who? Marie Antoinette and Joan of Arc took over Katy’s new music video and we are SO here for it.
Katy Perry just dropped her new music video and basically gave us a history lesson at the same time.
Katy Perry’s Witness album may have been released six months ago, but that doesn’t mean she won’t give us some new content! The Chained to the Rhythm singer just gave us an early Christmas present by releasing a music video to accompany the second track on the album.
“Hey Hey Hey” is one of Katy’s favorite songs from the album, so obviously she didn’t hold back when it came to creating its visual piece. The music video is NOT what we expected, but after being KatyCats for seven years now we’ve learned to expect the unexpected.
The music video starts with some hilarious pop culture Easter eggs like Google Duo and the Ham Horn App and we get to see what life would be like for Marie Antoinette to live in the 21st century.
Throughout the video, we see Katy as Marie Antoinette being forced to abide by all the rules that make her a quote-unquote lady. She has to carry books on top of her head, talk to annoying princes who think they’re all that AND she can’t eat her favorite snacks. Can’t they let a girl live?
Thankfully she is order to escape from reality when she discovers a book about Joan of Arc and transports herself into someone who makes her own rules.
Joan ends up influencing Marie and when the gross Prince tries to make a move on her, she slaps him in the face. Instead of being applauded for standing up for herself, she is sent to the guillotine. Although she does end up getting beheaded, Joan comes to literally pick up the pieces.
The whole video is full of bright colors, funny moments and great dance moves – what else could you want? 2017 was a great year for Katy, but we know that 2018 is going to be even better!
Have you watched Hey Hey Hey yet and what was your favorite part? Let me know in the comments below and then click here to see Anna Kendrick do the PERFECT Kristen Stewart impression. I’m Josln Davis, thanks for tuning in. .
