Katy Perry drops “Bon Appetit to mixed reviews--see what fans have to say about her latest single.
Katy Perry’s fans are feeling hot and cold over her newest track, with some feeling it and others voicing their extreme disappointment...
Katy had previously told fans that her upcoming album would be a purposely pop album, with more meaning behind the upbeat and catchy tunes, but with lyrics like "Eat with your hands," "I'm on the menu," "Hope you got some room for the world's best cherry pie," "You've got those hungry eyes", this song doesn’t exactly spread a meaningful message. Take a listen…
Fans took to social media to share their very mixed reviews of the song, with one fan deeming it “f---ing amazing”, while another tweeted QUOTE: “YESSS #BonAppetit is Soo goood!!! Love it”.
Yet there were also a hefty amount of fans who are more than disappointed with the song, with one fan tweeting QUOTE, “I can't believe that she can't do great songs like before. This is the second time after Chained to the Rhythm. Rise was good but #BonAppétit so bad,” and another posting “#Bonappetit sounds unfinished and like a rushed production.”
And while most fans have taken issue with the lyrics and production of the song, many others are angry that she worked with rap trio Migos on the track, because of some homophobic remarks one of the rappers said last year. Member Quavo said 'the world is not right' when an Atlanta rapper came out as gay, but he and the rest of Migos quickly changed their tune after some major backlash, tweeting that they are fans of the artist and saying QUOTE, “We have no problem with anyone's sexual preference.”
Katy has yet to address the Migos collaboration backlash or the mixed reviews for the song, but we’re hoping that the next single off her upcoming album is a little less polarizing.
