[KiniNews] Bersatu will submit a name to the prime minister soon for appointment as a Cabinet member to replace Zuraida Kamaruddin, who had announced her resignation from the party on Thursday.

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin said this is because Zuraida’s position as Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister is part of the party’s quota.

Meanwhile, Health minister Khairy Jamaluddin said under the Federal Constitution, the composition of the cabinet was the prerogative of the prime minister.

There is no need for other parties to put pressure on the prime minister. Let the appointment of the minister be decided by the prime minister only," he said.
