[KiniNews] Bersatu's move to sack its renegade representatives would not trigger a by-election, but would instead weaken its bargaining power with its coalition partners.

An academic interviewed by Malaysiakini said the six MPs and one state assemblyperson will remain as independent members if ejected by Bersatu and will bring into question Bersatu MPs' loyalty vis-à-vis PAS MPs', as well as further reduce Bersatu’s negotiation power with PAS within Perikatan Nasional.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, a lawyer has claimed that one of his Facebook posts on the Asia Mobility Technologies Sdn Bhd (Asia Mobiliti) issue has been blocked due to a legal request from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

He accused MCMC of untruth in claiming the post violated Meta’s guidelines, saying the social media platform only restricts posts in countries based on local law.
