Riverdale hunk KJ Apa might’ve already made a name for himself on the CW, but lest he not forget the major comic book audition he was sadly denied...
What’s up guys, it’s Sussan Mourad back here on Clevver News, and if you don’t know, well, you kinda should: KJ Apa is hot, he’s ripped, and he’s the perfect fit to star as the leading role in a live-action comic book adaptation.
He’s made a name for himself playing Archie Andrews on the CW’s hit, super-dark mystery series Riverdale, but he’s now recalling yet another ‘dark’ time in his life when he was denied a major movie role which was ultimately handed off to Tom Holland… are your Spidey senses tingling yet?
The cast of Riverdale caught up with MTV News, and when asked if any of them had auditioned for a superhero film, KJ revealed a bit of shocking information regarding the Marvel Spiderman role he auditioned for and how it didn’t quite go as planned… take a look:
I mean, we’ve all been there in some way, shape or form, but clearly this guy was able to bounce back and redeem himself because, come on -- hottie lead on a recurring national television show based off of a major comic book? Pretty sure he’s doing just fine.
Surprisingly enough though, Camila Mendes also chimed in and revealed that she, too, auditioned for a superhero film, but kept coy on which role she auditioned for.
BUT good news Riverdale fans -- if you’re still wondering what it’d be like to see these guys suited up in action, your wish might just be series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s demand. He recently revealed that some Riverdale characters will likely dress up as some major DC superheroes in the upcoming fourth season that was just renewed.
He also kept his lips sealed on any further details, but mix Archie’s six-pack and Jughead’s dark, mysterious ways with some tight spandex and a mask, and I don’t know what could happen, but ima stop while I’m ahead.
Anyway, I’m curious to hear all your thoughts on KJ potentially playing Spiderman -- can you see it, or was he much more fit to play Archie? Share all your thoughts down here in the comments, and go ahead and hit that subscribe button and the bell so you never miss a video!
