On Sunday Mother Monster went on a political rant urging Americans to vote for Hillary Clinton in order to keep our democracy alive. It all started with Melania Trump’s appearance in Philadelphia on Thursday where the former model gave a speech detailing her desire to eliminate Internet bullying should her husband Donald Trump get elected. Lady Gaga tweeted in response to Melania’s speech QUOTE, “To say u will stand for ‘anti-bullying’ is hypocrisy. Your husband is 1 of the most notorious bullies we have ever witnessed.” Gaga has a soft spot for anti-bullying as her “Born This Way Foundation” aims to combat online harassment and promote mental health awareness. Gaga went on to tweet to her 65 million followers QUOTE, “@realDonaldTrump you divided us with hateful language & fear . I love everyone in this country and I vote for @HillaryClinton to unite us.” Followed by another plea reading, “Young people listen up. We need to mobilize now, #VoteHillary and stop this dangerous man from continuing to divide and wreck our democracy.” Lady Gaga also changed her Twitter banner, and avatar to a photo of herself wearing a hat with a “Vote” button on it. Gaga posted a photo of her patriotic outfit on Instagram writing, “In times of stress I like to be fashionable. #Election2016 #GoVote #ImWithHer”. Gaga joins other high profile celebs who showed their support for Clinton over the weekend including Beyonce, Jay Z, and Katy Perry. What do you think of Gaga’s political pleas? Get to talking about that in the comments and then check out who wore it better between Bella Thorne or Zendaya on Dirty Laundry. I’m your host Sinead de Vries and I’ll see you soon.
