Yesterday the White House released Melania Trump’s first official portrait. The photo sees the first lady looking glammed up and fairly serious in front of a large window, making it stand out from previous White House photos. Naturally, within minutes of the portrait’s release the Internet went wild reacting to the shot.
One of our favorite comparisons on Twitter was this person who pointed out that the window looks oddly familiar to the Muppets Babies window. Spot. On. Another user pointed out the serious nature of the photo, by cleverly photoshopping Melania on a Bones poster.
While most reactions were funny and harmless, some were not as pleasant. One Twitter user accused the portrait of being too blurry and airbrushed writing, “yo why the official portrait of the first lady look like that super airbrushed pic of adam sandler from click”. And the airbrushed jokes kept coming. Another fan pointed out QUOTE, “They waste a lot of $(money), but credit where credit is due: they probably saved some major cash getting this photo done at Glamour Shots®.”
Some even thought the background and blurry nature of the photo made it look super old school. One Twitter user commented, “Melania looks like she's about to drop the most fire ballad of 1987.”
It seems EVERYONE has an opinion on the photo- so tell us down in the comments what YOU think of Melania’s official portrait? And do you think the reactions went too far? As always, I’m your host Joslyn Davis, thanks so much for tuning in.
