Liam Payne drops his hip hop flavored party single “Strip That Down”, and we have a lot to talk about.
Liam Payne is officially back in the music game.
Liam Payne is the final member of One Direction to debut solo music, and it’s a bit different from the rest. Liam’s debut single, “Strip That Down” features Quavo and is way more hip hop than any of his fellow band members. We’re still waiting for the video, but in the meantime we have the lyric video to obsess over. And as we suspected, the track features a not-subtle-at-all reference to 1D.
In case you’re still in SHOCK and missed part of that- Liam sings, “You know, I used to be in 1D (now I’m out, free) / People want me for one thing (that’s not me).” It seems now that Liam is free he can finally party like he wants. And the chorus confirms he wants to do a tad bit more than that...
Liam’s girlfriend Cheryl praised the club track responding to Liam’s announcement of the song on Twitter writing, “...and it is just the beginning. Hope you’re all enjoying #StripThatDown. So proud of you babe.” On BBC Radio 1 this morning Liam confirmed Cheryl loved the song the first time she heard it. But when host Nick Grimshaw mentioned their 10 year age gap, Liam admitted Cheryl doesn’t like to talk about it...yikes! In the interview Liam also dished about co-writing “Strip That Down” with Ed Sheeran.
When Ed Sheeran calls, YOU RUN. So what do YOU guys think of Liam’s debut song? We know you have a lot to say- so leave your thoughts below! After that- you gotta check out the 3rd episode of Clevver’s heartfelt series about Erin’s medical journey called: It Got Real. I’m your host Ava Gordy, thanks so much for tuning in to Clevver!
